2. Digital Content & Intellectual Property Rights

The entire contents of this Site—including but not limited to text, graphics, photographic dumps of our studio, logos, interface design, video loops, and downloadable PDF insight decks—are the exclusive intellectual property of A Collective Space (henceforth "ACS") and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other proprietary laws.

• You may download or print single copies of our free resources or program brochures for your personal, non-commercial use, or to share within your organization for the sole purpose of assessing a B2B booking.

• You must not modify, systematically scrape, copy, republish, or distribute any digital material from this Site for commercial or competitive purposes without explicit written consent from the ACS founding team.

 

3. Permitted and Prohibited Conduct

We have built this platform to serve as an inclusive, transparent space to connect. When using our Site, you agree not to:

• Use our automated contact forms or pop-up text fields to distribute unsolicited marketing, spam, or malicious software.

• Attempt to bypass, disrupt, or compromise the digital security layout, user interfaces, or hosting infrastructure of our Wix Studio setup.

• Misrepresent your identity, credentials, or organization capacity when applying for our customized school or corporate intake forms.

 

4. Direct E-Commerce & Booking Widget Misuse

Our Site utilizes integrated Wix Booking widgets and e-commerce carts for automated transactions.

• You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all transactions made via the online store.

• Manipulating pricing data, creating fraudulent reservations, or exploiting automated checkout vulnerabilities is strictly prohibited and will result in the immediate cancellation of your booking and a permanent ban from our physical workshop.

 

5. Third-Party Links & Social Media Feed Integration

This Site features embedded social media streams (such as our Instagram feed) and links to external collaborative partners (such as local festival sites or community networks). ACS does not continuously monitor or control the code, privacy practices, or shifting content of these external third-party domains. Clicking through to external links is entirely at your own risk.

 

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

While we strive to keep this platform regularly updated with real-time public calendar dates and accurate pricing schedules, this Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. ACS makes no digital warranties, expressed or implied, that the functions contained on the Site will be entirely uninterrupted, error-free, or free of server viruses.

B. Terms & Conditions of Services

Welcome to A Collective Space (referred to below as "ACS", "we", "us", or "our"). ACS is a platform and workshop provider practicing creative wellbeing and social connection through the tactile mediums of woodworking and heritage crafts.

By accessing our website, purchasing our retail products, booking public workshops, or contracting our corporate and educational services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before completing any transaction.

 

1. General Safety & Physical Liability (In-Studio & Mobile)

Woodworking and heritage crafts involve the handling of sharp hand tools, mechanical equipment, and raw materials.

• Assumption of Risk: By participating in any ACS session (individual, school, or corporate), participants explicitly acknowledge that hands-on crafting carries inherent risk of minor physical injury (e.g., splinters, minor cuts, muscle fatigue).

• Safety Adherence: Participants must strictly follow all safety briefings, scaffolded instructions, and tool guidelines provided by ACS instructors. ACS reserves the right to immediately remove any participant from a session without a refund if their behavior compromises the physical or psychological safety of themselves or others.

• Liability Waiver: To the fullest extent permitted by Hong Kong law, ACS, its founders, educators, and contractors accept no liability for personal injury, illness, or loss/damage to personal property sustained during our workshops, whether hosted at our Mui Wo storefront or via a mobile setup on client premises.

 

2. B2C Bookings, Cancellations, & The Flagship "Re-Try" Policy

This section applies to individuals purchasing tickets for public workshops (e.g., Crafts & Yaps, Seascape Carving, Spoon Carving, and Restoration classes).

• Payment: Public workshop seats are only guaranteed upon receipt of full payment through our integrated website checkout system.

• Cancellations & Rescheduling: * Cancellations made 7 days or more before the scheduled session are eligible for a full refund or a one-time date transfer.

  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before a session are non-refundable, as materials are pre-purchased and prepared on a per-seat basis. However, tickets may be transferred to a friend or colleague.

• The "Fail Better Lab" Re-Try Invitation: Participants in the Fail Better: Woodworking Resilience Lab who do not meet their designated design brief are eligible for a complimentary "re-try" pass. This pass is non-transferable, holds no cash value, must be redeemed within three (3) months of the original session, and is strictly subject to workshop space availability.

 

3. B2B Agreements (Corporate Programs & Event Activations)

This section applies to customized corporate events, leadership labs, bulk gifting, and brand installations.

• Quotations & Confirmations: Project slots are provisionally held upon receiving an official inquiry. A booking is finalized only upon the signing of a tailored Service Agreement and the receipt of a 50% non-refundable deposit.

• Final Balance: The remaining 50% balance is invoiced upon successful completion of the event or delivery of bulk custom gifts, payable within 14 days.

• Bulk Corporate Gifting Note: ACS specializes in handmade organizational bulk gift builds. Once design briefs and dimensions are signed off, alterations cannot be made due to the subtractive, permanent nature of wood crafting. We do not offer refunds or exchanges on custom organizational items.

 

4. B2B Agreements (Educational & School Contracts)

This section applies to one-off wellbeing days, camp intervals, and term-time contracts.

• On-Campus Mobile Setup: Schools must ensure a cleared, safe space is provided for ACS to unpack tools and materials. ACS guarantees all tools delivered to campus are safely maintained and explicitly counted before and after every session.

• Child Safeguarding & Supervision: While ACS instructors facilitate technical skills and therapeutic guidance, schools must provide at least one designated faculty member or teacher to remain in the room for general behavior management and administrative student oversight.

• Term-Time Commitments: Term contracts (e.g., weekly after-school or lunch clubs) are billed per term. No refunds or partial adjustments will be issued for individual student absences or school-mandated calendar adjustments midway through a term.

 

5. Retail E-Commerce

This section governs the purchase of Spoon Carving Kits, DIY tools, or upcycled furniture pieces from our online store or storefront.

• Natural Product Variances: Because we prioritize sustainability and raw timber character, physical items, upcycled furniture, and wood pieces inside DIY kits will possess natural variances in grain, color, knots, and texture. These are not deemed flaws, but characteristics of the organic material.

• Shipping & Returns: * Unopened, unused DIY Kits may be returned for a store credit within 14 days of delivery, with return shipping covered by the buyer.

  • Custom or upcycled furniture sales are final and sold on an "as-is" basis, as clearly outlined in product descriptions.

 

6. Intellectual Property & Psychological Frameworks

The unique intersection of mental health methodologies, behavioral questionnaires, resilience frameworks (such as our 3Ps model), and step-by-step structural craft curriculums hosted on this site or experienced in person are the intellectual property of ACS and our co-developing collective of psychologists, educators, and designers.

• Coping, duplicating, recording, or commercializing our curriculum or program frameworks for external commercial use without express written consent from ACS founders is strictly prohibited.

 

7. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). Any disputes arising out of or in connection with our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
